Williston Duo Impressed With New Vibe At UMass
2026 athlete Brooks Connors and 2027 athlete Rowan Martin left campus with scholarship offers
A pair of top Williston Northampton School prospects made the trip to Amherst for UMass’ Underclassmen Day last Saturday and both left with offers.
“It was great,” said 2027 athlete Rowan Martin, who had an offer under the previous staff.
“I was glad to get back on campus, see UMass again, see all the new coaching staff. It was good.”
The 6-foot-2, 165-pound Martin, who is likely a safety or nickel at the next level, also has offers from New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
UMass head coach Joe Harasymiak let Martin know what he saw in his game.
“He said he liked my physicality, my length and how I can play different positions on the field,” Martin said of Harasymiak.
2026 athlete Brooks Connors plays running back and linebacker for Williston. For Connors, the UMass offer was his first FBS scholarship.
“It went pretty good, nice facilities, seems like a new rebuild,” Connors said. “I really like it.
“Coach Harasymiak said he likes my physicality, the way I play and what I can bring to the table.”
The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder was impressed with what he saw during the day.
“I just enjoyed the new coaching staff, the people they're bringing in,” he said. “It seems like a new vibe, new personnel, just seems like they're ready to get to work.”
Martin echoed those comments.
“I thought it was good,” he said. “I liked the new staff. They seem like they want to change UMass, change the culture over there, so I liked it.”
Martin and Connors have similar plans for the offseason.
“Just to keep lifting, keep working on speed and to keep getting up,” Connors said.
“Lifting, getting stronger, faster, eating,” Martin added. “That's really it.”
